You may opt to quit smoking or cut back on drinking. You could start paying more attention to your hygiene, as well as cleaning your house more frequently, just in case you have guests over. And doctor and dental visits could become a priority rather than something you push off until later. All of these changes are fantastic for your health.
In addition, dating can be fun. Not only will you be looking and feeling better, improving your confidence; you’ll also have something exciting to look forward to. And if things are going well, you’ll enjoy all the effects of falling in love, such as an increase in dopamine, which will make you feel fantastic. And of course, there is the romantic side of things to consider. Once you start an intimate relationship, you may find that you’re sleeping better, your stress has been reduced, and you simply feel happy and content, which is a pretty good place to be, health-wise.
Sadly, it’s not all wine and roses. Dating can also have a detrimental effect on your health, whether it’s going well or not. For starters, there can be a lot of stress and pressure associated with preparing for dates, although most of it is self-imposed. This in turn could lead to anxiety and all of its associated health issues. And if you get rejected, you could be subject to increased stress, depression, and any number of emotional and mental health concerns. But it could get even worse if your date goes well. A one-night-stand could easily result in the need for pregnancy or STD testing.
So when it comes to dating, you simply have to weigh the pros and cons as it relates to your health. The truth is that humans are social creatures, so most of us are happier being with people rather than living alone. As long as you’re careful and you monitor your health situation, you can receive all of the benefits of dating while avoiding the drawbacks, leaving you healthy, happy, and on your way to finding a love connection.

You just have to be committed to making your relationship a good one and then the stress it causes will be minimal maybe even non-existent.
I have never heard of any explanation regarding what the pros and cons of dating was until this.. It goes to show that like any other external activities we got going can affect our health, even dating!
For me dating and health have always been related.. I’ve noticed that if I’m happier with my love life (or lack thereof) then I’m a lot healthier, whereas if I’m in a relationship/situation I don’t enjoy, it really takes a toll on my immune system.
As some would play around while dating.. This should be a warning for them.. heartbreaks go so deep to the point of health issues and that is unacceptable.. for me, dating should be healthy.. at all times.. it could still be healthy even if the two of you didn’t end up together.. with proper talk and sincerity from the start that can be done..
Seriously HATS OFF for the relation that you have made b/w health and dating, I mean how many of us had a look on dating this way, for us its just about love and being loved or looking good, and wear good clothes but you have given it a totally different perspective
Its interesting to see dating’s good and bad points but overall i think it has a positive effect on your health when your dating someone you like, how could it not?
When a relationship goes bad, your health can really suffer.
When I broke up with a long term girlfriend, I lost a bunch of weight and my iron levels were very low.
I’m ok now, but things got a bit rough there for a while
Some people let themselves go a little when they are in a relationship to make time for their partner, which is okay because relationships also need some adjustments from both sides and we cope up in different ways. Some neglect their workouts, some forget their diets, and it is perfectly normal.
But wouldn’t it be fun to find someone who thinks the same way as we do? I mean doing stuff together, going to workouts and classes together, things that will improve both and be fun for a couple.
